Premchand

Munshi Premchand (1880–1936) was one of the greatest writers in Hindi and Urdu literature. Munshi Premchand is often called the \"Upanyas Samrat\" (Emperor of Novels) for his outstanding contribution to Indian literature. His real name was Dhanpat Rai Srivastava, and he initially wrote under the pen name \"Nawab Rai.\"\r\n\r\nPremchand\'s works focused on social issues such as poverty, caste discrimination, exploitation of peasants, women\'s rights, and moral values. His writing was known for its realism and deep understanding of rural Indian life.
